# The okibi skill

> The agent skill that teaches Claude Code, Codex, and other agents how to run Okibi.

The okibi skill is a short instruction file that tells a coding agent how to drive the okibi client: check the login, agree on one source, run the generation, and fetch the result. It follows the open Agent Skills format.

## How you get it

The okibi installer installs the skill for you. There is nothing extra to run:

```sh
curl -fsSL https://okibi.ai/install | sh
```

The skill is saved to `~/.agents/skills/okibi`, then linked into each coding agent the installer finds on your machine:

| Agent | Linked into |
| --- | --- |
| Claude Code | `~/.claude/skills/okibi` |
| Codex | `~/.codex/skills/okibi` |
| Cursor | `~/.cursor/skills/okibi` |
| Gemini CLI | `~/.gemini/skills/okibi` |
| GitHub Copilot | `~/.copilot/skills/okibi` |
| Windsurf | `~/.codeium/windsurf/skills/okibi` |
| OpenCode | `~/.config/opencode/skills/okibi` |

Claude Code and Codex honour `CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR` and `CODEX_HOME` if you set them. If a folder named `okibi` is already there and okibi didn't put it there, the installer leaves it alone and prints a note.

## Use it

Ask your agent in plain words, from the project you want a CLI for:

```text
Use the okibi skill to build a CLI for this repo.
```

The agent checks your login, asks which source to use, and runs `okibi generate`. The [Agent quickstart](https://okibi.ai/docs/agents/quickstart.md) has the same steps for agents that don't load skills.

## Update or move it

- **Update.** Run the installer again. It upgrades okibi and the skill together, so they always match.
- **Move.** Set `OKIBI_SKILLS_DIR` before running the installer to save the skill somewhere other than `~/.agents/skills`.
- **Remove.** Delete `~/.agents/skills/okibi` and the links in your agents' skill folders.

> **Note** This skill is for building CLIs with Okibi. Each CLI you publish gets its own skill too, so agents can use that CLI. Edit it with `okibi clis skill`.
